4 Things I have learned about being a Mom, Wife, running a business, and ensuring self-care.
But Before I hop into that, Why does my little Nova look so grown up Y’all? 😫 She is so excited about our Halloween Weekend! Tonight we have plans to go to my Parent’s for a Pizza Night with my Aunts and cousins, tomorrow we are carving pumpkins, and Sunday we’ll go to worship, and then trick or treating that night. It is going to be jammed packed! And currently, my work calendar is jammed-packed as I try to close out the end of my year.
Okay, so back to 4 Things I have learned about being a Mom, Wife, running a business, and ensuring self-care with all these kinds of things going on!
💄 Adjust my personal life around my business, not the other way around. I remember when I would set up my calendar, I would put my business things on there first, and then add in personal things. I had no idea that my priorities were all out of wack because it always FELT like if I had my business in control, I could maintain everything else around me.
💄 Be Realistic. Before we had Nova, my office was like my playground that I could spend hours upon hours working in. And then after I had Nova, it was a shock to my system to have to slow down and not work so many hours. I had to be realistic about what I could do and couldn’t do, and there was definitely a period of time where I had to adjust to working 50+ hours a week to 25.
💄 Don’t Compare. I know this is one that is cliche, but I had a HUGE problem comparing myself to what I saw other #momprenuers doing. I have learned that AIN’T NOBODY Got it together! Every single last one of us is on the struggle bus most days. There is no way to show the real picture in a 1X1 Curated image on social media. LOL
💄 I Know my Limits and Respect them. There is no such thing as a super mom/wife. You are a human being that needs to STOP AND RELAX every now and then, and when you keep pushing yourself past your limit, burnout is right around the corner. Take that break you need WAY BEFORE you need it.
Which one of these resonates with you?
